Philly!

We've left NYC! Undertaken the first greyhound journey, which was lovely. It was only 2 hours, but we fancy we can hack longer journeys (which is handy seeing as we have too!) A bit of overnight sleeping action will also save us a nights accomodation. It's worth mentioning on the budget front that the price of accomodation has shocked us, so to retort we are living of $5 a day for food... surprisingly well! Also worth mentioning is how easy it is to wash clothes. You simply go for a shower still wearing them!! We've just arrived at our philly hostel. We had to take a bus through one of the dodgyest neighboorhoods I have ever seen but thankfully it was a loopy route and we've ended up in a palace in the middle of Fairmount park. Seriously, it's like an old stately home with pianos and paintings, a harp, creaky floorboards and a uber cool porch on the front where we have just been sitting and hatching master plans for the next month. All it needs is a rocking chair out there. The walk into town from here is about 6 miles, all through the park and by the river, we're going to do it tomos morning.

  1. Hi,

Thought I should just post something as we are a week into the WORLD TOUR. Remembering last Monday evening picking up Steve so that he and Stuart could compare rucksacks of how little they were taking ( Stuart has said since that he has taken too much!)

The trip on Tuesday to Heathrow and the goodbyes (all very British with stiff upper lip unlike others around us) ran very smoothly as I am sure Steve and Stu orchastrated at least a year ago. Terminal Five is very impressive (and the luggage obviously arrived safely with them in New York which is also impressive). Back home to the debris of departure (I,m sure Lynne had the same) and so it begins after so much planning.

    Just to say:-
Arun District Council did catch up with us due to the state of our re-cycle bin after the going away party, once assuring them that we did not run a Public House (or worse) they did say they would leave a truck outside for any future parties ( although they seem to be keen on an invite to look after said truck outside for future coming home parties!).

I think after a week I can now nag for some photos to be posted so we can now see what you've been doing.

    The Blog Site is impressive.

    Keep Safe
